Grow with CASE

Trainees working at the allotments

Learners get the opportunity to be involved with the regular  upkeep and maintenance of the CASE multi-award winning allotment (both Yorkshire and Hull in Bloom) as well as being involved in larger projects to develop practical skills such as D.I.Y., building sheds and developing new sites.

This department develops individuals gardening skills whilst also building confidence.

Throughout the week individuals develop transferable employment skills. Once a week there is also a more focussed opportunity for individuals to learn and develop employment gardening skills by undertaking commercial gardening activities.

Trainees are given the opportunity for educational trips to learn more about horticulture. There are planned trips in 2016 to Bishop Burton, Burton Agnus Hall, Yorkshire Sculpture Park as well as local nurseries and garden centres

Transport is provided from CASE to the allotments on Clough Road, where individuals learn in a supportive and enjoyable environment.
