Each year, CASE takes part in the Rotary Games – an Olympic-style event for people with disabilities, which is organised by Rotary Clubs in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Hundreds compete in sports such as boccia, archery, swimming, snooker, darts and table tennis, and it’s a perfect chance to make new friends with others from across the region. Our trainees were proud to win 17 trophies and medals in the 2018 games.
Trips and Days Out
Our trainees love to get out and about, which is why we organise regular trips out that everyone can go on together. Flamingo Land and Yorkshire Wildlife Park are popular destinations and always provide an enjoyable day out for all.
Award Winning Pop-Up Restaurant
A highlight in our events calendar are the pop-up restaurant evenings. This is a fantastic, popular occasion that gives trainees the opportunity to cook alongside a Michelin-starred chef which, in recent years, has been Colin McGurran, of Winteringham Fields. Around 20 trainees take up vital roles, from front-of-house duties, to cooking, serving canapés and pouring drinks. Guests enjoy prosecco on arrival, followed by
a five-course meal.
The festive period is always a special, fun and exciting time of year at CASE. We hold an annual pantomime, which has been held in some wonderful locations, including the Pride of Hull ferry at King George Dock. For our staff and trainees, we organise a Christmas disco and party, as well as a three-course festive lunch, with live entertainment. A carol service before the Christmas break always gets everyone in the spirit, and we also make sure every trainee receives a Christmas gift from CASE.
Our annual dinner is a popular event amongst friends and supporters of CASE. Guests enjoy a three-course meal before being entertained by a live act, with previous performers including The Real Thing, The Three Degrees and Bootleg Beatles.
