Butterflies buzzing, bees happily in their hives, saplings popping out from scattered seeds – it’s beginning to look a lot like summer at GROW! Having just passed the halfway line of 2022, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on how far our brilliant allotment space has come and to say a few heartfelt `thank yous` while we’re at it.

GROW Group leaders Sally & Brenda say: “We’ve made so much progress on developing our new plots and we’ve been able to spruce up the original site, too.

“The donations we’ve received have allowed us to refresh our plots, paths, and everything in between – and it’s all looking good!

“The trainees at GROW Group are feeling proud of the work they have accomplished in the last few months, and so are we.”

Amazing donations we’ve received from businesses this year

We’ve been SO lucky this year, having received several donations from local businesses with a keen interest in supporting us and the growth of our allotment. Here are just some of the amazing donations we’ve received:

  1. Golf balls – with special thanks to One Stop Golf. We repurposed this generous donation to make modern outdoor decorations. We are so happy with the results and we wouldn’t have them without you!
  2. Plant pots, hanging baskets, and tools – with special thanks to Mark Smith.
  3. Two tonnes of pea gravel – with special thanks to The Ashcourt Group, residential housing specialists. We used this generous donation to spread around our plots and refresh the paths – and just in time for our visit from the Yorkshire in Bloom judging panel. A million thank yous for helping us to present our best possible selves!
  4. Sponsorship for our raised beds – with special thanks to Harris Lacey and Swain Chartered Accountants. Your continued support means the world to us!
