Awards for CASE Grow

Green-fingered trainees from CASE have been left overjoyed after they were crowned as the overall winners of Hull in Bloom 2017 for their Dead Bod themed allotment.

On Tuesday night (19th September) we were celebrating after bagging numerous trophies and being named as the overall winners in a ceremony at The Guildhall.

We won:

·       Overall Winner

·       Best Community Effort

·       Silver Award for the Best Wildlife Garden Category

·       Gold Award for the Best Community Category

·       Gold Award for the Best Container Category

The annual Hull In Bloom awards are organised by Hull City Council. It is open to residents, schools, community groups, allotment holders, pubs and commercial premises.

Steve Rusling, marketing manager for Case, said: "They have been so happy about it. It's a real achievement for them because these are the people that don't normally get recognised in the local community.

On Wednesday (20th September), CASE threw a celebratory barbecue to honour the trainees' standout win and Mr Rusling could not be prouder of their achievements.

"They do try so, so hard. They are down from 9am to 3pm for five days a week. It doesn't matter what the weather is, they will be there regardless.

"It's so great for them to be recognised for their efforts."
