Business Support Group Highly Commended at National Awards
16th May 2016
The CASE Business Support Group was recently highly commended at the national Third Sector Business Charity awards.
The Business Support Group (BSG) is a group of businesses that formed after it was named the Hull Daily Mail’s charity of the year in 2003.
The group meet every six weeks to try to produce different fundraising ideas for the charity. We are delighted the group had now received recognition for the “invaluable” work they do for the charity. The BSG come together to try to raise funds every year for the charity. They try to come up with different ways to support CASE through fundraising, either through their businesses or other ways.
The BSG was highly commended in the consortium award category in the Business Charity Awards, which were held in London on Wednesday April 20.
The key objectives of the BSG have been to raise the necessary funds, but to establish a structure that, on an ongoing basis, can continue to support the charity, not only with fundraising, but also expert advice and other work in kind. It may be possible to measure the cash that has been raised, but it would be difficult to include within that the volumes of hours given freely by so many local business people as a consequence for the contacts of the members of BSG.
The support of the BSG has enabled CASE to enhance its offerings to those who fall within its charitable objectives, and will continue to do so as new members join the BSG with the enthusiasm to take it forward.
