‘Fishing’ For Student Capabilities Through Structured Projects
These projects, although simple, help to determine student idiosyncrasies, whilst introducing simple creative concepts, such as, drawing and painting techniques. Misconceptions within art are also addressed early to avoid any confusion later. Simple concepts such as, layering and contrast to create the illusion of depth are repeated using different themes, which in-turn help to consolidate information for students, helping them to remember as much as possible.
These Projects Are:
- Identity; ’All About Me’, coloured pencil and water colour techniques whilst discovering ‘allabout them’ and creating the front cover for their art folder..
- Nature; Introducing recording and oil pastel drawing techniques.
- Cubism (Analytical & Synthetic); Introducing collage, portraiture and the self– portrait.
- Landscape; Introducing For-Shortening, texture and colour schemes.
- Waterscape (Lake or Sea); Introducing reflections, consolidating knowledge and understanding so far.
