Recreation Aspect of Discovery
Holistic methods have been effectively used for centuries and can play an important role in maintaining good health and overall well-being of our trainees.
The holistic approach simply refers to treating the whole person rather than individual symptoms, widely known as complementary and alternative, and has been making positive waves for years.
The holistic methods we use include:
- Relaxation techniques through art, music, and creative mediums
- Problem-solving using active participation
These relaxation techniques help to strengthen the mind and better equip our trainees to manage situations that arise in everyday life.
A key principle of mindfulness is paying attention – and that can be tough when we’ve got big feelings to deal with. Holistic methods teach our trainees to become an observer without immediately reacting, leaving them calm and able to discover and think of better ways to respond to difficult situations.
